What is an Allen Electricity Plan EFL?
Every electricity plan sold in Texas must have a standard discloser document called an EFL (Electricity Facts Label). In this document you will find listed the electricity rates for the plan. Published average electricity rates are calculated using algorithms that define the cost based on how much power is used in a billing cycle. These formulas are made of various flat rates, passthrough rates, and electricity charges.
The EFL will list average electricity rates for homes that use 500 kWhs, 1000 Kwhs, or 2000 kWhs. Even though you probably aren’t going to use exactly these amounts of electricity, the fees and costs listed in the EFL should give you a reasonable idea of what you could expect to pay if your level of electricity usage falls somewhere between those standard usage levels. In reality, almost no one will hit exactly 1000 kWhs in a cycle.
Other pieces of information electricity providers must include in the EFL are early termination fees and length of contract term. The EFL format is intended to help people understand exactly what goes in to the price they will pay for the plan.

What will I need to enroll in new electricity service?
Here is the information you will need to provide to switch electricity providers or enroll in new service.
Service Address – If the address you provide doesn’t match exactly with the state’s ESID database the provider will not be able to complete the enrollment. If for some reason, they can’t match the address within the ESID database, they may ask you to provide the ESID. This is a unique identifier for the address that will appear on past electric bills.
Start Date – You will be asked for a start date for your new electricity plan. In some cases, it is possible to get electricity on the same day. Usually, however, it will be the next day at the soonest. You can even select a date a couple of months out if you need to.
Information for Credit Check – You will need to provide information for a credit check. This includes your name, DL#, or SS#.
Payment Information – Some plans come with an autopay option. If you are enrolling in a plan that offers autopay, you may have to provide credit card or bank information during the enrollment process.
