Comparing Electric Companies in Hutto Is a No-Brainer
The most important thing to keep in mind when you compare Hutto electricity rates is to make sure you are looking at the appropriate usage level for your home. Almost any electricity plan you choose in Texas is going to have different average electricity rate depending on exactly how many kWhs of electricity you use per month. Sometimes the difference can be substantial.
There are three standardized levels in which electricity plans in Texas are priced. These are 500 kWh, 1000 kWh, and 2000 kWh. All plans sold in Texas publish the average rate for these three usage levels as part of their required discloser documentation. Typically, you would find that the 500 kHw level is the most expensive in terms of average electricity rate. This is because any fixed components of the plans pricing are spread out across fewer kWhs. This makes for a higher average rate.
When you compare electricity plans be sure you are looking at the usage rate commensurate with your home’s typical electricity usage. Fortunately, our electricity rate comparison tool allows you to select which usage level to compare.

What Is the Electric Plan’s EFL?
Before you decide on an energy plan, you should always read the plan’s EFL. EFL stands for Electricity Facts Label. Every plan marketed in the Texas retail market includes one. The EFL for each plan is updated when rates are updated.
You will find a link to the EFL for every plan listed here on Vault electricity.
Every EFL must include certain mandatory elements including the average electricity rate for 500, 1000, and 2000 kWhs. Depending on how the plan is structured these 3 rates can be wildly different. You really want to make sure that you are looking at the usage level that represents the amount of electricity you expect to use.
If the rates among the 3 usage levels are very different, it might be a warning that this is a plan that could be problematic.
In the EFL you will also find the cancelation fees and the contract length of the plan.
