How Renewable Energy Certificates used by power companies for green energy?
Renewable energy certificates are an important part of electric utilities’ efforts to increase their use of renewable power sources. Companies that produce electricity by using fossil fuels sell these certificates to companies that want to build new wind or solar power plants. Previously, utility companies were not required to purchase these certificates for the electricity they generated; however, in recent years, many states have passed laws requiring them to do so.
