Why does Pulse Power own so many electric companies?
It is common in Texas for one parent company to operate several different retail electric brands under the same corporate umbrella. There are a few different reasons for this. For one, it alls them to target different segments of the market by marketing to different price points and different product types using different brand names. Another reason is because of industry consolidation.
When larger energy companies look to grow their customer base, they often find it less expensive and faster to acquire more customers by buying out existing smaller companies. This also allows them to save on operating costs by consolidating operations and back offices across multiple brands.
