Concho Valley Electric Company Cooperative supplies electricity to rural customers in West Central Texas. They currently have over 15,000 electricity customers. Of those, approximately 11,250 are residential and 2,400 are commercial. Concho Valley EC is a member of the Touchstone Energy Cooperative group.
Concho Valley Electric Co-op does not generate electricity in house. Instead, they buy it wholesale, then mark it up to the customers. Because of this arrangement, their customers tend to pay 13% more for electricity than other people in Texas. Their commercial customers pay an even larger markup on their electric bills than do those in the deregulated areas of Texas.
Concho Valley EC does offer net metering to their clients, which can help make the installation of solar panels more affordable. Net metering allows the owner of the solar panels to sell their excess electricity back into the grid.
